Counselling provides a space in which you feel heard, valued and cared-for. You are safe to explore and reflect upon your thoughts and feelings without the fear of judgement or disclosure of some of your deepest and most personal memories and emotions. Counselling is not only for people with problems. It is also for those that want a mentor to help them develop as a person and gain independent confidential support. Psychological exploration is important for anyone who cares about their health, personal development and their relationship with those around them. I describe myself as a holistic therapist because
I use a range of counselling methods to get the best results for my clients. Sticking strictly to one approach, in my experience, doesn’t meet the needs and expectations of individuals seeking therapy because we are all so unique. For example, cognitive behavioural therapy works superbly for some but others have found the format of this type of therapy frustrating and even patronising. I treat my clients as an equal and don’t pretend to be an expert or superior therapist. Below I have listed some of the techniques and approaches I am trained in.
